Democracy is, above all, the political system that transforms the State into a network of relationships — or a combination of operations — of powers duly coordinated under a eutaxy or stable political order. When this rational relationship of powers is broken — by monist procedures (autocracy, as was the case with absolute monarchies in the Ancien Régime) or atomistic ones (disintegration, as happened in the feudalisms of the Middle Ages), democracy disappears.
